Sami Nouri

Sami Nouri founded this practice around a simple idea: money that belongs to people, families, estates, and businesses should not sit forgotten with the state when it can be returned and put to use. California's unclaimed property system is real, but most people never know when property is being held for them. Sami's work is focused on closing that gap.

His path to this work has been broad by design. Sami earned his law degree from Wayne State University Law School after completing his undergraduate studies at the University of Detroit Mercy. During law school, he worked with the Michigan Attorney General's Conviction Integrity Unit, clerked for a judge on the Wayne County Circuit Court, and gained experience with private family law, personal injury, and prosecutor offices. After law school, he served in Imperial County, California, as both a Deputy District Attorney and a Deputy Public Defender, handling misdemeanor and felony criminal matters from each side of the courtroom.

Since opening his own practice, Sami has worked across criminal defense, personal injury, employment, insurance issues, and unclaimed property. That range shaped his view of legal work: the job is not just knowing the rule, but building a process that makes the rule useful for real people. In unclaimed property matters, that means identifying potential claims, organizing the proof, communicating with agencies, and pushing valid recoveries forward when they are delayed, questioned, or denied.
